Who We are

We are an incorporated, Christian, non-profit, community-based child care centre with charitable status. The centre is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors and is licensed by the Ministry of Education. Immanuel Child Care is committed to providing high quality care to all children. Through play experiences and with the guidance of our trained and sensitive staff, each child will be involved in situations that foster:

  • A sense of curiosity and learning

  • The development of a positive self image, independence, self confidence and initiative

  • The development of social and communication skills

  • The growth of creative expression through language, music, storytelling, arts and crafts, drama and creative movements

  • The development of fine and gross motor skills through a wide variety of creative and physical play activities

  • A sensitivity and appreciation for the many cultures which enhance our child care community

  • Exploration of the natural environment through outdoor play and excursions

  • Joy, laughter and a sense of being valued and loved

We are a government licensed daycare that provides a wonderful learning environment for each child. Our teachers are professionally trained in Early Childhood Education to provide a balanced curriculum, utilizing effective, government-approved methods.

Our curriculum covers math, science, music and art. Reading and writing are introduced to foster a love of literature.

Our aim at Immanuel is to equip our students with the skills they need to enter grade 1.

Our Philosophy

The name “Immanuel” was given to Jesus. It means “God with us”. We at Immanuel believe that each child is a unique and special person that God has made. We strive to provide a warm, caring and nurturing environment where learning can take place. We believe in the development of the “whole child”, and our program is designed to meet the emotional, social, intellectual, physical and spiritual needs of each child. We view the centre as an extension of the family, where home and our child care will work hand-in-hand for the benefit of the child.

Our Staff

All of our regular staff have a degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education and are members of the College of Early Childhood Educators.

Our Programs

Toddler Care

Our toddler program includes indoor and outdoor activities such as arts & crafts, music, dance and physical activities in a safe, loving environment. We work closely with the parents to ensure that the daily transition from home to child care is as comfortable as possible.

Preschool

Our preschool children enjoy a wide range of activities designed to develop their physical, social and communication skills. Our continued support and respect for their individual needs and multicultural diversity helps build positive self-esteem for your child.

Junior & Senior Kindergarten

The program is designed to motivate and challenge the children’s developmental needs. We offer children opportunities within a carefully planned daily routine to work and play independently, make choices, pursue their own interests and solve problems during this process.
